4/28/26

By: Courtney Wood

The show kicked off with a meeting between Shawn Michaels, NXT GM Mr.Stone and NXT Head Coach Matt Bloom talking about the future of the brand as many of their stars were called up to the main roster, creating a lot of opportunities for stars to step up and make a name for themselves. This meeting set the tone for the entire evening as many new faces would make an impact on the brand.

Match One

NXT North American Championship Match:

Myles Borne (Champion) Defeated Saquon Shugars (With Darkstate) Via Pinfall

This championship contest began with a frenetic pace where each man showcased their abilities; Shugars utilized his aggression and speed while Borne demonstrated his strength. After a little distraction from Darkstate, Shugars caught the champion with some very innovative offense; eventually sending Myles’ throat first into an exposed turnbuckle. Borne rebounded, took out Darkstate while Lennox and Shugars were arguing and hit an elevated ‘Borne Again’ from the top rope to retain the North American championship.

After the match, Myles’ celebration was interrupted by ‘Mr. England’ Tristan Angels and attacked by the debuting Cam Hendricks from LFG.

NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo took to the mic to give a warning to any thinking of challenging him. The champion was interrupted by the Japanese legend Evil, who walked to the ring and handed Tony a t-shirt. While D’Angelo was figuring out what that meant, he was attacked from behind by Tavion Heights.

The macabre odd couple of Tatum Paxley and Shiloh Hill held a funeral for the NXT career of Blake Monroe.

Birthright came out for the scheduled match against EK Prosper and Dorian Van Dux, but showed a video of them taking out Van Dux. While the group were celebrating getting out of their match, Prosper ran in and tried to fight all of them. As the numbers game caught up to EK, he was saved by Sean Legacy. An impromptu tag match was made.

Match Two

Tag Team Match:

EK Prosper and Sean Legacy Defeated Birthright (Uriah Connors and Stacks) Via Pinfall

A fired up Legacy took the fight to Birthright, delivering rapid fire chops and a German Suplex. When EK was tagged in, Birthright double teamed him, eventually sending him face first into the ring apron. After a very fast paced match, EK landed a twisting moonsault on Stacks before Legacy dropped him with ‘Shambles’ to pick up the victory.

After the match, the rest of Birthright attacked the makeshift team. Fortunately for them, Evolve’s Tate Wilder evened up the odds and ran Birthright out of the ring.

Due to the cheapshot from last week, the NXT Women’s champion called out Izzi Dame. The Culling tried to attack Lola again, but she was prepared and had her AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion partner Mr. Iguana waiting under the ring. The champions laid out The Culling. Later in the night, it was announced the two teams will square off next week,

Backstage Shugars and Lennox continued arguing, furthering the divide within Darkstate. Cutler and Griffin stopped the bickering and told their teammates that they were going to go after the tag team championships.

Match Three:

Lizzy Rain Defeated Nikkita Lyons Via Pinfall

‘The Divine Feline’ used her size and power advantage to calm Rain’s momentum, throwing her around the ring, throwing massive right hands and landing a massive (split) leg drop. Rain capitalized on a major misstep and struck Lyons with a step up knee straight to the head she calls ‘Thunderstruck’ to pick up the hard earned victory in her debut match.

Match Four:

‘The Stand Out’ Kelani Jordan Defeated Wren Sinclair (NXT Speed Champion, With Kendal Grey) Via Pinfall

The two skilled athletes had a very technical evenly matched exchange at the beginning of this contest, trying to out wrestle the other with neither woman being able to maintain control for long. Jordan’s aggressive streak took over after Sinclair tweaked her knee and ankle. The Stand Out proceeded to target the weakened limb by placing the champion in various submissions. Wren rallied through and gave Kelani a double underhook suplex. In the end, Wren tried to lock in her ‘Final Wrench’ submission but her knee gave out. The unfortunate circumstance allowed Jordan to hit the ‘One Of A Kind’ split legged moonsault to earn the win.

Match Five:

Shiloh Hill Defeated Ricky Saints Via Pinfall

Ricky landed a cheap shot on Hill, gaining an underhanded advantage from the very beginning; this was a strategy Saints would implement frequently during the match. The unorthodox Shiloh combined mind games and brute strength to knock the former heavyweight champion off of his game, dropping Saints with a tilt-a-whirl slam and spinning powerslam for a nearfall. Just as Shiloh was closing in on victory, an irate Ricky grabbed a steel chair but would be disarmed mere moments before disqualification. Unfortunately this backfired on Saints as Hill would send him face first into the chair and dropped him with the “Whisper To The Beast’ to pick up the win.
