Former NJPW star EVIL is reportedly set to make his WWE debut in the near future.

According to a report from BodySlam.net, EVIL is expected to debut for WWE “imminently,” though there is currently no official word on when or where he will first appear.

Reports earlier this year indicated that EVIL had signed with WWE following the expiration of his contract with New Japan Pro-Wrestling. At the time, it was said he had not yet been assigned to a specific brand internally, leading to speculation that he could begin in WWE NXT before eventually moving to the main roster.

EVIL, real name Takaaki Watanabe, is a former IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental Champion and has been one of NJPW’s top stars for years. He is perhaps best known for his shocking 2020 heel turn when he betrayed Los Ingobernables de Japón and aligned himself with Bullet Club, eventually leading the House of Torture faction.

There is no confirmation yet on whether EVIL will keep his ring name in WWE or if the company has plans to repackage him under a new persona.
