Sheamus has shared a new update on the shoulder injury that has kept him sidelined since December.
He has been out of action following surgery on December 30 after battling through ongoing shoulder issues for several months. His last match took place in December, when he teamed with John Cena and Rey Mysterio in a six-man tag team match to defeat The Judgment Day members Dominik Mysterio, Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh.
Speaking about the injury, Sheamus admitted the setback “came out of nowhere,” revealing that he first noticed problems with his shoulder around May or June during his match against Rusev at Clash in Paris.
“Yeah, this one has been difficult. It kind of came out of nowhere. I started noticing my shoulder around May-June at Clash in Paris against Rusev. It was bothering me and I thought I tore it. I got a couple of shots in there and it felt good for a little while, but ultimately it was just a matter of time before it stopped moving on me. I tried to push through it to the point where I couldn’t move my arms. I had surgery on December 30. Ever since then, I’ve been rehabbing. I’m dying to get back in the ring and back to work. I have cabin fever,” he said.
Sheamus has been rehabbing since the procedure and made it clear he is eager to return to the ring as soon as possible.
At this time, there is no official word on when Sheamus will be medically cleared to compete again.
