EVIL made his NXT debut and confronted NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo.
D’Angelo was in the ring addressing the growing list of challengers seemingly interested in the NXT Championship, but his attention quickly turned to the mysterious box he received on last week’s episode. The box featured the Japanese symbol for “war,” sparking speculation about who might be targeting “The Don of NXT.”
Before D’Angelo could get any answers, the arena lights suddenly went out.
A hooded figure then emerged and slowly approached the ring, carrying what appeared to be a banner emblazoned with the same symbol seen on the box from last week. The mystery man entered the ring and handed the banner to D’Angelo before removing his hood, revealing himself as the former New Japan Pro-Wrestling star known internationally as EVIL.
The two men shared an intense staredown as the crowd reacted to the shocking reveal.
WWE commentary did not refer to the star by his EVIL ring name during the segment, instead identifying him only as a “former IWGP Champion.”
The debut marks a significant addition to the NXT roster, with the former Bullet Club and House of Torture member immediately positioning himself in the NXT Championship picture. Whether EVIL or whatever name WWE chooses to present him under is the latest challenger for D’Angelo remains to be seen.
