NXT Show Results 3.24.26
By: Courtney Wood
The night kicked off showing that Elio Lefleur and Eli Knight were attacked in the backstage area and would be unable to compete in the tag team tournament later in the night.
Match One
Tag Team Match:
Wren Sinclair and Kendal Grey Defeated Fatal Influence (Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley With Jacey Jayne) Via Submission
After Sinclair charged at her, Fallon Henley overpowered and out wrestled the new Speed Champion, proceeding to isolate her from Kendal. Once the very aggressive, and arguably disrespectful, Reid was tagged in she ran through her opponents, simply punching them right in the face. After being able to evade being locked in the armbar, Reid was placed in the submission long enough to force her to tap out.
After the match, Interim GM Stone made a match between Kendal Grey and Lola Vice in which the winner will face Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Championship at Stand and Deliver.
Sol Ruca came out to talk about the situation between her and Zaria, eventually challenging her former best friend to a match at Stand and Deliver. Unsurprisingly, Zaria came out to respond claiming her relationship with Sol was a “mistake”.
Match Two:
‘The Stand Out’ Kelani Jordan Defeated Thea Hail Via Disqualification
After weeks of bickering back and forth these two young stars collided, with the aggressive Jordan taking an early lead. Ever resilient, Hail fired up and unleashed a fast paced flurry of offense, trying her best to lock in her signature Kimora. Right as Kelani seemed to be moments away from victory, she was attacked by another enemy; Jaida Parker. Despite being beaten down, Parker’s actions forced the official to award the match to Jordan.
Match Three
Gauntlet Elimination Match To Become Number One Contender For The North American Championship”
Eventual Winner: Johnny Gargano
Shiloh Hill and Jackson Drake started this match off with a battle of speed versus power. Dion Lennox would be the third entrant, coming in and destroying both men trying to get back on track after everything that happened with him and Tony D’Angelo. Charlie Dempsey entered fourth, trying to take advantage of the other men’s fatigue by continuously trying to force any one in his path to tap out. Surprisingly, NXT alumni Johnny Gargano entered last, trying to get out of his recent “funk”. Dion Lennox. Jackson Drake and Charlie Dempsey would all be eliminated by Shiloh Hill after receiving a standing neckbreaker. Hill’s luck would run out after he was attacked by Birthright, sent back in the ring to be pinned by the eventual winner Johnny Gargano.
Backstage, Stone made a match between Jaida Parker and Kelani Jordan for next week.
Backstage, OTM announced that next week they will team up with TNA Champion Mike Santana to take on Darkstate in a six man tag team match.
Match Four
Tag Team Championship Number One Contender’s Tournament Match:
Los Americanos (Rio and Bravo) Defeated The Culling (Shawn Spears and Niko Vance) Via Pinfall
Bravo kicked off this match by evading and discombobulating Spears. Vance came in and laid out the Americanos, ending the fun spirited games and gaining a lot of momentum for his team. In the end, right it seemed Spears was about to pick up the victory, he was sent face first into the loaded mask of Rio and hit by a headbutt by Bravo. With this victory, Los Americanos will advance in the tournament and take on Birthright next week.
Backstage, after Stone was told no official wanted referee Keanu Carver versus Jasper Troy, Josh Briggs offered to be the special guest referee for that match, claiming neither man scared him.
Match Five:
Tony D’Angelo Defeated Ricky Saints Via Disqualification
The very determined D’Angelo used his size and strength advantage to overpower Saints, sending him flying across the ring or crashing into the mat. Ricky would counter Tony’s momentum and send him shoulder first into the steel ring stairs creating a weakness for Saints to exploit. After these two men destroyed each other, Saints’ “friend” Ethan Page took out Tony’s knee, giving D’Angelo the victory via disqualification.
After the match, Saints and Page continued to beat down D’Angelo, until the NXT Champion Joe Hendry came out to even the odds. Not forgetting what D’Angelo did to him, Hendry dropped the former don with the ‘Standing Ovation’ chokeslam. After coming to, Saints and Page fought over the NXT Championship belt.
Backstage, Stone announced that Joe Hendry will defend his title against Ricky Saints, Ethan Page and Tony D’Angelo in a fatal four way at Stand and Deliver. The four men will meet in the ring next week to sign the contract for this star studded championship match.
