American Idol golden ticket holder Luke Colombo kicked off the night with a beautiful rendition of the national anthem.
Match One:
‘The Local Highlight Reel’ Bam Alan Defeated Tony Sane (With The Draw) Via Pinfall
The two long-time rivals got into a chop battle early on in this match, with each man trying to establish dominance. Sane showed his vicious side by dropping Alan directly on his face with a cutter on the ring apron. The crowd cheered on Bam, who fired back by using his body as a weapon and throwing caution to the side. Bam’s resilience annoyed Sane to the point he took it out on the fans. This backfired on Tony as it gave Bam the opportunity to hit him with a 619 and roll him up to pick up the win.
Match Two
No Disqualification Match For The WVWF Women’s Championship:
Rikku St Helen (Champion) Defeated Brittnay Storm Via Pinfall
The two women immediately went after each other and simply threw hands, showing how personal the situation has become and how important the women’s title is. Storm took advantage of the rules and brutalized St Helen with a kendo stick. After seeing Brittnay hit her father in the same way, St Helen beat Storm with a steel cooking sheet, then began to choke her. In the end, Brittany climbed to the top rope, but was caught and sent crashing to the mat with a ‘World’s Strongest Slam’ onto steel chairs making Rikku the undisputed women’s champion.
Match Three:
Bearclaw Defeated Wildcat Via Pinfall
Now very familiar with Wildcat’s arguably underhanded tactics, Bearclaw wasted no time and overpowered the hall of famer. Wildcat fired up, dug deep into his veteran bag of tricks and flattened Bearclaw with a clothesline for a very near fall. After kicking out of a stalling suplex, Wildcat went low and proceeded to choke Bearclaw, almost getting himself disqualified. Bearclaw retaliated with a modified bulldog and picked up the win.
After the match, Bearclaw thanked the fans and showed respect to Wildcat. His speech was cut short when Dorian Hyde attacked him from behind. The two behemoths stared at each other with Hyde being the first to back down. Bearclaw challenged Hyde to a match at the next event.
Match Four:
‘The Chemical Valley Gunslinger’ James Enoch Defeated ‘The Prince Of Chaos’ Dae Jamison (With The Draw) Via Pinfall
As soon as the bell sounded, Dae slapped Enoch and then ran out of the ring, forcing James to chase him. Enoch was cleverly ran right into The Draw who attacked him while the official was distracted. Once in the ring, Jamison overwhelmed Enoch, doing everything in his power to keep him down. This enraged Enoch to the point where he used his raw strength to calm ‘The Prince Of Chaos’s fury, often sending him flying across the ring. Dae got fired up and attempted to hit his running knee, but would strike the official by mistake. While The Draw was about to take the advantage of the referee being down, many members of the locker room chased them off. As Dae went for a steel chair, his former tag team partner Am-Po came out and got some revenge by dropping him with a package pile driver. Making this situation worse for Jamison, Bam Alan landed a frog splash, giving Enoch the victory.
Match Five
King Of The Mountain Championship:
Michael Everything Defeated Maverick (Champion) Via Pinfall
The championship contest started off with a fairly even technical exchange before Maverick landed a low drop kick and choked his challenger. Michael recovered and sent all of his weight crashing into Maverick with a frog splash from the top rope to become the new King Of The Mountain Champion.
Wyatt Black took to the mic to see who was going to accept his open challenge. He proceeded to insult the fans, especially the real life girlfriend of Josh Jade who was sitting in the front row. After the disrespectful words, Josh accepted Wyatt’s open challenge.
Match Six
No Disqualification Match:
‘The Controversy King’ Wyatt Black Defeated Josh Jade Via Submission
Jade unleashed a hard hitting rapid fire offense, trying to beat some respect into Black. This fury did not last long as Wyatt took control of his surprise opponent, sending him into the solid steel ring post and stomping him out. Eventually, Wyatt locked him in a kimura lock that forced Josh to pass out, giving him the very unpopular victory.
After the match, The Draw reached a frightening level of heinousness when they placed a plastic bag over Josh’s face. Fortunately, Cease and Desist came out and chased them out of the ring.
Match Seven
USWA Universal Championship Match:
‘The Fabulous’ Phoebe Harper Defeated King Tau-Fua (Champion) Via Pinfall
The long-awaited singles contest that has been building for months began with Harper showing no fear, as she went right after Tau-Fua. Harper targeted his arm and shoulder by wrapping it around the steel ring post; she would continue to target that arm throughout the entire match, showing a very smart strategy to take away some of the champion’s power. After receiving many stiff hits to the face, Tau-Fua simply gripped her up (with one arm) and sent her crashing to the mat with a sit-down powerbomb for a very near fall. In the end, the ever resilient and determined Phoebe locked in a ‘Black Widow’ submission where she used her entire body to wrench back the consistently attacked shoulder of Tau-Fua with such force she was able to roll him into a crucifix pin to become the new champion.
After the match Tau-Fua attacked Phoebe, but she would counter it and hit him with a ‘con-chair-to’. Harper also got revenge by also smashing Tau-Fua’s mask with a chair, proving that she has put this whole situation behind her.
Match Eight
Triple Threat Tag Team Championship Match, Winner Takes All:
Cease And Desist (WVWF Tag Team Champions) Versus Steel Brothers Inc (NBW Tag Team Champions) Versus The Collective (USWA Tag Team Champions) Ended In A Time Limit Draw
This multi-team battle for tag team supremacy began with all six men having a massive fist fight, each trying to establish dominance early. Am-Po laid waste to everyone in his path, kicking many of them in the head. Am-Po’s surge was momentarily halted by Chris Phoenix who landed a moon sault from the second rope for a two count. The Steel’s had a very clever plan, where they tried to pin each other, but the other men would step in and prevent them from getting the although intelligent some would say cheap victory. Despite all of the champions doing whatever they could to win, the match’s time limit would expire meaning no titles would exchange hands.
After the match, The Draw came out and dropped all of the teams. In a very surprising and disrespectful moment, Dae Jamison ripped off Am-Po’s signature mask and held it over his head like a trophy while standing over his longtime tag team partner, trainer and friend. After they were done, The Draw walked out with all of the championship belts.
WVWF and MMW will hold a collaborated event next week, March 28th, in The Richardson Building at 325 7th Street Parkersburg West Virginia. Be sure to follow both companies’ social media for more information.
