Wrestling legend Jake “The Snake” Roberts is reportedly returning to WWE after his departure from All Elite Wrestling, bringing another chapter to the career of one of professional wrestling’s most recognizable personalities.

Roberts, renowned for his psychological approach to wrestling, distinctive promos, and the infamous snake Damien, had been working with AEW since 2020 as the manager of Lance Archer. The pairing brought together Roberts’ legendary presence and Archer’s imposing in-ring style, although Roberts believes the partnership never reached its full potential.

Reflecting on his time with Archer, Roberts described their combination as a perfect fit but expressed disappointment that Archer never received the major opportunity he felt the talent deserved. Roberts also offered pointed thoughts on AEW’s creative direction, suggesting that company president Tony Khan could benefit from giving wrestlers greater freedom to develop their characters and maximize their potential.

News of Roberts’ return to WWE has generated a positive response from fans, many of whom welcomed the opportunity to see the Hall of Famer continue contributing to the industry.

Although Roberts is best remembered for his work inside the ring during the 1980s and 1990s, his experience and ability to understand the psychological side of professional wrestling have made him a valuable mentor to younger talent.
