Sami Zayn’s reign as WWE Undisputed Champion came to an end after just nine days.

Earlier in the evening, it was announced that Cody Rhodes was not medically cleared to compete in his scheduled rematch against Zayn, who had defeated Rhodes to win the championship. WWE later confirmed that a replacement challenger had been found, though the opponent would remain a surprise until match time.

When the championship match arrived, CM Punk was revealed as Zayn’s challenger. The two battled in an intense back and forth main event, with Punk ultimately defeating Zayn to capture the WWE Undisputed Championship.
