Ilja Dragunov could be nearing his return to WWE after several months away from the ring, according to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer.

Dragunov has not competed since before WrestleMania 42, where he took part in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on SmackDown. Prior to his absence, he had been involved in the United States Championship picture and previously held the title.

While the reason for his time away has not been confirmed, Dragunov has remained active, recently training at Nattie Neidhart and TJ Wilson’s Dungeon facility alongside his significant other, Leigh Laurel, formerly known in NXT and Evolve as Jin Tala.
