TNA Wrestling has announced a major championship bout for the May 14 edition of iMPACT!, as Leon Slater will defend the X-Division Championship against Cedric Alexander in a 2-Out-of-3 Falls match, airing live from the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium.

The match comes as the latest chapter in the escalating rivalry between Slater and Alexander, who have traded verbal jabs and in-ring encounters in recent weeks. Alexander has questioned Slater’s legitimacy as champion, while Slater has remained confident, previously defeating Alexander and vowing to do so again under more demanding stipulations.

The stakes are especially high for the reigning champion. Should Slater successfully retain the X-Division Title, he will make history the following day by becoming the longest-reigning X-Division Champion of all time.
