Former WWE and NXT Superstar Luca Crusifino announced his retirement from professional wrestling earlier today.
Crusifino shared the news in a post on X, revealing his decision to step away from the ring just days after being part of WWE’s latest round of talent releases last week.
“After much reflection, I’ve decided to retire from professional wrestling,” Crusifino wrote in part. “This decision wasn’t easy, but it’s the right one for me at this time.”
Crusifino, whose real name is Roman Macek, signed with WWE in 2022 after a football career at Duquesne University. He was initially introduced on NXT television as a lawyer-type character before later aligning himself with Tony D’Angelo’s Family, serving as the faction’s “consigliere.”
In recent months, Crusifino had been appearing on WWE’s EVOLVE brand under a repackaged persona. His final match under the WWE banner reportedly took place on the April 22 edition of EVOLVE.
WWE released Crusifino on April 24 as part of the company’s post-WrestleMania roster cuts.
At just 25 years old, Crusifino’s announcement comes as a surprise to many fans, especially given his youth and recent television appearances. However, his statement suggested peace with the decision while hinting that his next chapter may already be on the horizon.
While Crusifino’s in-ring future appears to be over for now, his message made it clear he is viewing retirement not as an ending, but as the beginning of something new.
