TMZ Reports WWE Hall of Famer Suffered Facial Injuries After Falling Outside Tampa Restaurant
WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair was transported to a Florida hospital on Friday following a fall outside a restaurant in Tampa, according to a report by TMZ. The 77-year-old wrestling legend reportedly suffered cuts to his head and around his eye, with concerns also raised about a possible concussion.
According to TMZ, sources with direct knowledge of the incident said Flair had been at Wagamama in Tampa earlier in the day. After getting up from the bar and leaving his phone and drink behind, Flair reportedly walked across the street before suddenly falling and injuring his face.
Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, and Flair was subsequently transported to a hospital by ambulance. TMZ also reported that Flair’s eye was bleeding extensively following the incident.
The circumstances surrounding the fall come just hours after Flair announced that he would be unable to attend a fan convention in Seattle because of a blood clot and medical advice against traveling long distances by air.
In his earlier statement, Flair explained that his doctors had advised him not to fly due to the potential risks associated with blood clots, which can be serious and potentially life-threatening. He also referenced Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who recently disclosed his own diagnosis involving blood clots.
Flair apologized to fans and his agent for missing the convention and revealed that he was scheduled to undergo a procedure to have the affected vein stripped.
