TNA Wrestling has officially announced the creation of a new championship for its Knockouts division.
During today’s Slammiversary pre-show at Agganis Arena in Boston, TNA Hall of Famer Traci Brooks revealed that a 16-woman tournament will begin on this Thursday’s edition of TNA Impact. The winner of the tournament will become the first-ever TNA Knockouts Television Champion.

“Starting this Thursday night, there will be a 16-woman tournament beginning,” Brooks announced. “And at the end of that tournament, we will crown the first-ever TNA Knockout Television Champion.”
Brooks also confirmed that the title will be defended exclusively on Impact television.
“This championship will be defended exclusively on Impact television,” Brooks said. “And to my Knockouts, this is an opportunity once again to prove why you are the greatest women’s division in professional wrestling. Ladies, let’s make history.”
The new title adds another major opportunity for the Knockouts roster and marks the latest expansion of TNA’s championship lineup.
