Match One
NXT Heavyweight Championship Match:
Tony D’Angelo (Champion) Defeated Naraku Via Pinfall
Once the bell sounded the wounded champion went right after his challenger, punching Naraku in the face before sending him crashing through a wall; giving this important match a very violent beginning. Back in the ring, Naraku targeted the bandaged eye of D’Angelo, delivering well placed fists, boots, eye rakes and even sending him face first into the turnbuckle. The two big men proceeded to battle in a very hard hitting contest where they beat one another down, but in the end D’Angelo dropped his challenger with the ‘Dead To Rights’ chokeslam to remain NXT Heavyweight Champion.
Match Two
NXT Women’s North American Championship Match:
Zaria (Champion) Defeated Tatum Paxley Via Pinfall
This contest started off with the two competitors having a tug-of-war over the North American championship belt, which allowed Paxley the opportunity to deliver a headbutt and land some strikes on the much larger Zaria. Tatum’s offensive flurry was quickly extinguished once the powerhouse used her strength advantage to throw her challenger around the ring, eventually sending her crashing spine first on the ground. Paxley endured the physical punishment and managed to inflict some of her own when she sent Zaria face first into the steel ring post and delivered a superplex from the top rope. After both women hit each other with their most powerful moves, it looked like Zaria was going to win when she hit her signature F5, but Paxley managed to kick out. This shocking moment enraged the champion so much she hit Tatum in the back of the head with clubbing forearms before dropping her with a second F5 so devastating Zaria was able to hold onto the thing that matters most to her, the North American championship.
Match Three:
Shiloh Hill Defeated ‘Mr. England’ Tristan Angels Via Pinfall
Once the bell rang, Angels tried to deliver a cheap shot but would be overpowered by Hill, who eventually dropped Tristan with a helicopter spin. The self proclaimed “Mr. NXT” overwhelmed Hill to the point Shiloh was forced to retreat on the outside of the ring. This advantage would be short-lived as Angels was pulled under the ring and choked out. The two very different superstars proceeded to battle in a hard hitting contest until Hill hit the ‘Whisper Of The Beast’ and picked up the popular victory. The fans cheered as Shiloh regained the ‘Mr. NXT’ sash that was rightfully his.
Match Four
NXT Women’s Speed Championship Match:
Wren Sinclair (Champion) Defeated Arianna Grace (With Birthright) Via Submission
The two gifted athletes had a very fast paced and competitive match with a few near falls, but in the final twenty seconds of the championship contest Grace was forced to tap out after Sinclair locked her in ‘The Final Wrench’ submission.
Match Five:
Saquon Shugars Defeated Dion Lennox (With Darkstate) Via Pinfall
The two former teammates wasted no time and began beating on each other, turning this match into a fight. Shugars quickly had an emotionally driven flurry, where he tried to prove he was not a “weak link”, physically sending this message with a disrespectful boot to the face. Lennox responded by targeting Shugars’ taped lower back with spinebusters and suplexes, eventually sending him spine first into the top of the turnbuckle. In the end, Shugars would hit the man who betrayed him with an innovative splash from the top rope to pick up the very hard earned victory.
After the match, Shugars was brutalized by his former teammates who beat him with his own metal baseball bat.
Match Six
NXT North American Championship Match:
Myles Borne (Champion) Defeated Tavion Heights Via Pinfall
This championship contest began with a handshake and a very evenly matched technical exchange where the familiar “friends” tried to gain control over the other. After colliding head first in the center of the ring, Heights increased the intensity by throwing right hands and locking in various submissions trying to wear down the champion. Despite being on the receiving end of offense the majority of the match, Borne was able to hit the ‘Borne Again; out of nowhere and remain North American Champion; defeating Heights for a third straight time.
Match Seven
NXT Women’s Championship Match:
Kendal Grey Defeated Lola Vice (Champion) Via Pinfall
The two submission experts started this highly anticipated rematch by trying to tap out the other with neither being able to. As they were struggling for control, Kelani Jordan tried to interfere, but was stopped by Wren Sinclair. This distraction allowed Vice to switch strategies and use her MMA background to lay in well placed body shots and rapid style kicks. After standing in the center of the ring and exchanging right hands, Grey would quickly climb to the top rope and hit an elevated ‘Shades Of Grey’ to become the new NXT Women’s Champion.
