MVP ‘Light In The Darness Festival’ Show Two Results

5.16.26

By Courtney Wood

Match One:

‘The Prince Of Chaos’ Dae Jamison Defeated ‘The King Of The Cave’ Yabba Dabba Daddy Via Pinful

After the two had fun with the crowd, they had a very technical exchange and traded pinfall attempts. Things soon got more aggressive, resulting with a fight on the outside and an exchange of chops in the middle of the ring. In the end, Yabba missed a double stomp from the top rope, allowing Dae to hit the ‘Acid Flower’ to win this very entertaining and hard hitting match.

Match Two:

Michael Everything Defeated ‘The Monster’ RK Sawyer (With ‘The Mother Of All Monsters’ Lilith) Via Pinfall

As soon as the bell sounded, Everything went right at Sawyer and rapidly threw right hands. Unfortunately, Everything’s charge would be short-lived as RK overpowered Michael, laying in boots, stiff shots and choking him. Everything brawled out of the Monster’s clutches, eventually landing a tadpole splash to pick up the hard-earned victory.

Match Three

Tag Team Match:

The Heavy Metal Pirates (‘Brutal’ Ben Metal and Captain Curly John) Defeated Sniper And Iron Ike (With Mayor Mystery) Via Pinfall

Iron Ike and Sniper started this match by playing mind games, taking their time to get into the ring, nearly forcing the official to count them out. Once in the ring, they isolated the Captain from his tag partner and proceeded to overpower Curly John. Eventually both Heavy Metal Pirates were in the ring, and locked their opponents in a double ‘Bermuda Triangle’, wrenching their legs back in a very unnatural way. Despite the constant interference from Mayor Mystery, Curly John was able to hit an assisted cannonball on Ike to win the match for his team.

Match Four

Triple Threat Match For The Monsters Division Championship:

‘The Dead Shot’ Dakoda Orion Defeated ‘The Mon Valley Monster’ Michael McMoney (Champion) And ‘The Man of Tomorrow’ Flux Via Pinfall

Before the match started, McMoney disrespected everybody to the point management was forced to appoint a special guest referee for this contest. Unfortunately for the champion, it was a man who he has also disrespected numerous times; ‘The Prince Of Chaos’ Dae Jamison, who immediately took McMoney’s brass knuckles and rang the bell.

Once the match began, the devious McMoney convinced Orion to double team Flux with him. This alliance would be short-lived as both men wanted to be champion. Flux and Orion battled in a fast-paced exchange, allowing McMoney to pick his spots and try and win without doing the work. When the strategy did not work, the champ argued with Jamison, but ‘The Prince Of Chaos’ never backed down and enforced the rules. In the end, McMoney hit his signature Slingshot on Flux, but Orion was perched on the top rope waiting to deliver a missile drop kick onto Michael. This gave ‘The Dead Shot’ the opportunity to capitalize and pin Flux to become the new MVP Monsters Division champion, much to the delight of everybody in the building.

Match Five:

Shane Starr Defeated Joshua Kavod Via Pinfall

The two familiar foes had a very even exchange to begin this contest, countering one another signature moves. Starr showed his strength when he frankly grabbed Kavod and held him upside down before delivering a stalling suplex. Kavod showed he hasn’t missed a step when he hit a handstand cutter for a near fall. After a very hard hitting and evenly matched contest, Starr hit a spinning uranage to pick up the win.

Match Six:

‘Part King, Part Strader’ Vance Strader Defeated ‘The Banana Man’ Lestat Via Pinfall

The two big men began the match by locking up, trying to prove which one was stronger with neither really being able to move the other. Vance turned up the aggression, running through Lestat with a clothesline before dropping an elbow. This fired the Banana Man up, giving him the will to lay in right hands, hit a splash in the corner and deliver a clothesline of his own. After evading another splash, Vance sent Lestat to the mat with a twisting neck breaker to pick up the win.

After the match, ‘The Ram’ Anthony Drake snuck into the ring and speared both men.

Match Seven

MVP Tag Team Championship Match:

The VIPS (‘The Face Of Pittsburgh’ Lou Martin and ‘Dr. Devastation’ Shawn Blanchard) Defeated The Freek Show (Champions, Freek E Doyle and Manchild) Via Pinfall

Manchild wasted no time overpowering the VIPS, which allowed Doyle to hit some rapid fire uppercuts on Shawn. The champs did not let up, especially when Manchild picked up Doyle and then threw him onto Lou Martin. Once he recovered, Blanchard reminded everybody why he is known as ‘Dr. Devastation’ when he raked Doyle’s eyes, gave him a fish hook and stomped on his fingers. After Manchild was sent face first into the solid steel ring post, the VIPS landed an elbow drop and backbreaker combination on Doyle to become the new tag team champions.

Match Eight

MVP Masters Division Championship:

‘The Be All, End All’ Andrew Loveless (With ‘The Hammer’ Maxx Strong and M.O.M.) Defeated ‘Handsome’  Harley T Morris (Champion) Via Pinfall

Harley started this match on fire, wrestling Loveless to the mat and even doing a cartwheel over him for good measure. Loveless calmed the champion’s momentum by taking him down with a headlock takeover and placing him in a sleeper hold. Right in the middle of the match, the official was accidentally knocked down which allowed The Black Sheep Society to attack Harley; including his own brother DA Morris, who cracked him in the back with a steel chair. Unfortunately for Morris, he was unable to recover from the multi-man attack and would not be able to kick out when a second official made the count. The new Masters Division Champion Andrew Loveless celebrated with all The Black Sheep Society in the center of the ring, a visual sign for what they have in store for MVP moving forward.
