WVWF ‘Dead Frequency’ Show Results

5.2.26

By: Courtney Wood

Tyler Strategus kicked the show off sporting a new look and a very different, more sinister attitude. Armed with a metal baseball bat, the fired up Strategus threatened to take out Wyatt Black for disrespectfully putting his hands on Lovable Lester

The injured Bearclaw came out to apologize for missing the last show due to being caught in Dorian Hyde’s bear trap. As the fans were cheering for him to get better, Hyde attacked him from behind. The mighty Bearclaw withstood the attack and laid Dorian out, announcing that he was cleared to compete. GM Lester made a match for the two big men later in the evening.

Match One

Triple Threat Match For The WVWF Tag Team Championships:

The Levys (Trent and Tyler Levy with Papa Levy) Defeated Cease And Desist (Champions, The Hype Man Dan Lasers and ‘The Rare Bird’ Chris Phoenix) and SBI (Ryan Steel and Nate Steel) via Pinfall

Before the match, Taxi’s music played but was nowhere to be found. As everyone was trying to figure out what was going on, The Draw threw Taxi’s partner Josh Jade out of the entrance way then demanded to be added to the match. Lester refused to reward this underhanded tactic, made the fatal four way a triple threat and forced The Draw to leave. The Levys tried to leave as well but were not successful as they were dragged into the ring.

Once the match began, Cease And Desist and SBI attacked the Levys before Lasers and Ryan Steel took turns chopping Tyler. Upset with the consistent trash talking, the champions showed a far more aggressive side in this match every time they were in the ring. Both teams continued beating whichever Levy brother was in the ring, but due to the triple threat stipulation would be stopped whenever they tried to attempt a pinfall. After a fast paced contest, the Steels double kicked Phoenix in the head but Ryan was low blowed and pinned allowing the Levys to become the new tag team champions. In just their second match in WVWF, the Levy brothers ended Cease and Desist’s history-making reign.

Phoebe Harper came out to clear up any confusion regarding her championship. The fabulous one stated that Tau-Fua won the USWA Universal Championship, but as everyone can see the title she was holding was the Women’s USWA Universal Champion. Harper proceeded to offer an open challenge to anybody brave enough to step up. Surprisingly, the challenge was answered by an unusual masked newcomer simply called El Bob.

Match Two:

‘The Fabulous’ Phoebe Harper Defeated El Bob Via Pinfall

As Bob was trying to get the fans behind him, Harper kicked him right in the midsection and hit him with a Canadian Destroyer for an immediate near fall. Every time Bob attempted to get momentum he was shut down and was eventually sent crashing to the mat with a schoolboy driver to pick up the victory.

ATM, Harper screamed that she knew El Bob was actually Wyatt Black and refuses to be told otherwise.

Match Three

King Of The Mountain Championship Match:

Michael Everything (Champion) Defeated Prodigy Via Pinfall

Prodigy took an early advantage, forcibly displaying his years of experience. Everything fired up, hitting his challenger with a sliding elbow and numerous chops. Sensing the danger he was in, Prodigy distracted the official, low blowed Michael and ran him face first into the turnbuckles before delivering a drop kick in the corner. In the end, Everything evaded a splash, dropped Prodigy with a suplex and landed a tad pole splash to remain the King Of The Mountain champion.

After the match, Everything offered his hand in a show of respect, but Prodigy refused and exited the ring.

Tyler Strategus oversaw the highly anticipated contract signing between James Enoch and Wyatt Black. Given the lengthy history between these two, it is not surprising that things got very personal almost immediately. The two very familiar foes exchanged some very harsh words before Wyatt attacked Enoch. The Chemical Valley Gunslinger got the better of the Controversy King and left Black bloodied.

Match Four:

Dorian Hyde Versus Bearclaw Ended In A Double Count Out

The two big men started this match trying to overpower the other. WVWF fans willed Bearclaw on, giving him the motivation to knock Hyde down. The masked monster eventually picked up Bearclaw and sent him spine first into the turnbuckle. Bearclaw responded by hitting Hyde with a ‘World’s Strongest Slam’ for a near fall. The two proceeded to brawl on the outside where they destroyed one another so severely neither were able to get back into the ring, forcing the official to declare this match a double count out.

After the match, Bearclaw challenged Dorian to a rematch at WVWF’s next show on May 16th.

Match Five

Number One Contendership Match For The Hybrid Championship:

‘Blue Collar Beef’ Dax Preacher Defeated ‘The Banana Man’ Lestat Via Pinfall

Beef had a lot of momentum in the beginning of this contest, delivering a suplex and a DDT from the second rope before targeting the Banana Man’s shoulder and arm. Lestat endured, slamming Beef with a fallaway slam that sent Preacher all of the way out of the ring. In an unfortunate misstep, Lestat inadvertently splashed the referee, which gave Beef the opportunity to hit the ‘Meat Cleaver’ to become the number one contender for the Hybrid championship.

After the match, Beef took to the mic and challenged Hybrid champion Daniel Tau-Fau to a best of three series over the next three WVWF shows.

Match Six

Six Man Tag Team Match:

Team WVWF (‘The Chemical Valley Gunslinger’ James Enoch,  ‘The Local Highlight Reel’  Bam Alan and WVWF Hall Of Famer Wildcat) Defeated The Draw (WVWF Heavyweight Champion ‘Chaos Incarnate’ Aaron James, ‘Rated R’ Tony Sane and ‘The Controversy King’ Wyatt Black) Via Pinfall

Before the match began, Wildcat appointed Tyler Strategus to be the special guest referee.

The main event began with a very interesting callback for long-time WVWF fans as Wildcat and Aaron James squared off.  Wildcat proved he has not missed a step against both Aaron and Wyatt Black. When Bam Alan got in the match, he sent Black forehead first into the mat with a DDT, targeting the still open forehead of the Controversy King. In a much anticipated and potential glimpse into the future, champion Aaron James stood across from potential challenger James Enoch and the two violently exchanged right hands. In a moment of miscommunication, Tony Sane accidentally speared Wyatt, who was then hit with a board breaker from Tyler Strategus. This opening allowed Bam to hit a frog splash on Wyatt Black to pick up the win for team WVWF.

After the match, The Draw and the Levys attacked team WVWF. Fed up with the constant numbers game, Cease and Desist, The Steel brothers and Josh Jade came out to run The Draw off. During this brawl, Wyatt Black was reopened prompting James Enoch to reiterate his threats.

WVWF’s next event will take place on May 16th at 325 7th Street in beautiful Downtown Parkersburg West Virginia.
