WWE has filed a new trademark for the name “Nox Raijin,” fueling speculation that the moniker could be tied to the company’s newest arrival, EVIL.
According to a filing submitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office on April 28, 2026, WWE applied to trademark “Nox Raijin” under its standard “entertainment services” classification, a category typically used to secure rights for ring names, characters, and gimmicks.
WWE has not publicly revealed who the trademark is intended for. However, speculation has quickly centered on EVIL, who made his surprise debut on WWE’s NXT brand this week. Reports have indicated the former New Japan Pro-Wrestling star is not expected to use the “EVIL” name in WWE.
The name “Raijin” references the Japanese god of thunder in mythology, potentially aligning with EVIL’s Japanese heritage and his dark, imposing in-ring persona. The timing of the filing, coupled with EVIL’s recent debut, has only intensified rumors that “Nox Raijin” may be his new WWE identity.
