Powerhouse Hobbs’ run with All Elite Wrestling appears to be coming to an end, with multiple reports indicating the powerhouse is WWE-bound following the expiration of his AEW contract.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Hobbs has officially wrapped up his commitments with AEW and is expected to sign with WWE in the near future. News broke late Wednesday that, with his AEW deal expiring, Hobbs is not re-signing with the promotion and is instead preparing for a move to WWE.

Hobbs finished up with AEW on Wednesday by filming a Trios Championship defense that is scheduled to air this weekend on Collision. The taping effectively marked his final appearance for the company. Meltzer noted that WWE has been “very high” on Hobbs for some time, with interest dating back at least to last week’s reporting.

AEW sources had previously indicated that the company made a strong effort to retain Hobbs, but the sides were unable to reach terms on a new deal. Hobbs, who debuted with AEW in 2020, developed into a featured powerhouse act, capturing the TNT Championship and later holding the AEW World Trios Titles during his tenure.

As of this writing, neither WWE nor Hobbs has made an official announcement regarding his signing. However, based on widespread industry reporting, Hobbs’ arrival in WWE is widely viewed as imminent, setting the stage for the next chapter in his career.
