The event was headlined by two championship matches, including Konosuke Takeshita’s IWGP World Heavyweight Title defense against Hirooki Goto and Yota Tsuji defending the IWGP Global Heavyweight Title against Tanahashi in his final homecoming bout.

After the main event, Takeshita addressed the crowd, asking who would challenge him at Wrestle Kingdom 19 on January 4. IWGP Global Champion Yota Tsuji appeared, setting the stage for a potential double title showdown at the Tokyo Dome.
