Match One

NXT North American Championship Match:

‘All Ego’ Ethan Page (Champion) Defeated ‘The Face of The Franchise’ Moose Via Pinfall

The less than honorable champion charged at Moose during the matches’ introduction, a strategy that gave Page the opportunity to target the very capable challenger’s shoulder early on. Moose rebounded, fought through the pain and dropped Ethan with a sit down powerbomb from the top rope for a near fall. After a very hard hitting contest, Page sent Moose shoulder first into the steel stairs, landed a top rope splash and his signature ‘twisted grin’ to remain “the greatest North American”.

Given that this is the last episode of NXT of the year, they had their annual end of the year awards. Je’Von Evans would be the first winner as he was named NXT Male Superstar of The Year. The rest of the winners were announced throughout the evening.

Backstage, Kendal Grey was found laying on the ground after being hit in the head by a glass bottle. All signs pointed to Fatal Influence, but the perpetrator was never revealed.

In the ring, Izzi Dame addressed the recent attacks on The Culling by Tatum Paxley. The former women’s champion came out and two exchanged very personal attacks before Paxley laid out her former friend.

Sol Ruca and Zaria were named NXT Tag Team of The Year.

Match Two:

Jacy Jayne (NXT Women’s Champion, With Fatal Influence) Defeated Wren Sinclair Via Pinfall

Jayne bullied Sinclair in the beginning moments of the match, constantly disrespecting and overlooking her opponent. The emotionally charged Wren went after the champion’s shoulder, pulling it out of its socket while continuously attempting to lock in a submission hold. Even though Wren came so close to making Jayne tap out, Jacy would hit her ‘rolling encore’ to pick up the victory.

After the match, Fatal Influence tried to beat down Sinclair, but her tag team partner and Jayne’s future championship challenger Kendal Grey came out and chased the mean girls out of the ring.

Joe Hendry hosted his ‘New Year’s Eve, Eve’ concert. As Joe mentioned NXT tag team champions Dark State, the lights went out, the group appeared and proceeded to attack Hendry leaving the popular superstar laying.

Match Three

NXT Speed Championship Tournament Finals:

Tavion Heights Defeated Lexis King Via Pinfall

The moment the bell rang, Heights sent King crashing to the mat with a belly to belly suplex, ending the match almost as soon as it began. Tavion will face NXT Speed Champion Jasper Troy.

Oba Femi, Je’Von Evans and Trick Williams won the award for Match of The Year for their triple threat match at Stand and Deliver.

Match Four

Tag Team Match:

OTM Defeated Swipe Right (Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes With Jackson Drake) Via Pinfall

Despite trying to double team Lucian Price, Swipe Right would both be thrown around the ring by the powerhouse. After a distraction by Jackson, Smokes would be able to take out Bronco’s knee, allowing Brad to hit a DDT; this gave the brash team from Evolve the most offense of the match. Inevitably, OTM would hit their double Alabama Slam on Smokes to pick up the victory.

Backstage, NXT Women’s North American Champion Thea Hail asked Jordynne Grace to be in her corner next week when she defends her title against Blake Monroe. Given Grace’s and Monroe’s history, this should make matters very interesting.

Sol Ruca won NXT Female Superstar of The Year

Match Five:

Ricky Saints Defeated Je’Von Evans Via Pinfall

After weeks of violent escalation, it is no surprise that things immediately turned into a fight as the two talented superstars brutalized each other. Saints turned up the intensity and swarmed Evans, trying everything to ground the skilled high flyer. An off balanced Evans fought back hitting Saints with a tornado DDT and high knee to the face for a near fall. As Evans went for a top rope cutter, Saints would move at the last possible moment causing the official to be hit accidentally. While the referee was down, Saints hit his rival below the belt, delivered a disrespectful slap and dropped Evans with his ‘roshambo’ to get the very unpopular pinfall.

NXT Stand and Deliver was named the PLE of The Year.
