12/23
Match One:
Lola Vice Defeated Izzi Dame (With Shawn Spears) Via Pinfall
The two hard hitting strikers wasted no time and took the fight to one another before Vice implemented her MMA background trying to lock the lanky Dame in a submission. Izzi slowed down Lola’s fiery momentum, slamming Vice to the ground with a saito suplex. While Spears was trying to interfere, Tatum Paxley literally cut her way through the side of the stage with a chainsaw then proceeded and chased him off. This understandable distraction allowed Lola to hit Dame with a spinning backfist to pick up the victory.
After the match, Lola was attacked from behind by Kelani Jordan.
The new NXT Women’s North American Champion Thea Hail was in the ring to celebrate her unexpected championship victory. Unsurprisingly, Hail was interrupted by the rather distraught former champion Blake Monroe who demanded “her title” back. After exchanging some harsh words, Hail agreed to give Blake a rematch at NXT ‘New Year’s Evil’.
Match Two
Men’s Speed Championship Tournament Match:
Tavion Heights Defeated Eli Knight Via Pinfall
Knight made quite an impression and gave Tavion a very big fight, but the olympian would endure and eventually send Eli crashing to the mat with a major belly to belly to advance in the tournament.
Backstage, NXT Champion Oba Femi and his challenger Leon Slater had a sit down interview about their upcoming match for NXT’s grandest championship at ‘New Year’s Evil’.
NXT GM Ava tried to conduct a meeting between Ricky Saints and Je’Von Evans. Before things got physical, Ava made a match between the two fired up superstars for next week, hoping it will settle this situation.
Backstage, NXT Women’s champion Jacy Jayne challenged Wren Sinclair to a “warm up match” next week.
Match Three
Mixed Tag Christmas Street Fight:
Shiloh Hill and Skylar Raye Defeated Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo and Ariana Grace Via Pinfall
While “NXT’s power couple” Stacks and Grace were embracing under the mistletoe, the LFG season two winners attacked, starting the festive fight. Both teams used holiday themed weapons to brutalize one another; including candy cane striped keno sticks, Christmas lights and even the ringside trees. While Hill was in prime position to be hit below the belt with a bowling bowl, Grace put a little too much enthusiasm in her backswing and accidentally struck her boyfriend. Ariana snapped and hit both Hill and Raye repeatedly with a cookie sheet. In the end, after Hill power bombed Stacks through a pinecone covered table, Raye would land a frog splash to pick up the victory for her team.
Match Four
NXT Speed Championship Tournament Match:
Lexis King Defeated Andre Chase Via Pinfall
Chase fought valiantly, overcoming going into this match with an injury, but in the end King would hit ‘The Coronation’ to advance in the tournament.
Match Five
Women’s United States Championship Match:
Chelsea Green (Champion, With Alba Fyre and Ethan Page) Defeated Sol Ruca (With Zaria) Via Pinfall
Ruca wasted no time and immediately tied up the champion, locking her in the surfboard submission. The two women exchanged forearms and elbows, wearing the other down. Grenn took control over Sol, wrapped her long legs around the challenger and proceeded to squeeze the breath out of her. Ruca would get back to her feet and strike Green with a beautiful cartwheel DDT so dangerous Page had to interfere to save her. While Page was pretending to be innocent, his future challenger Moose came out and the two fought to the back. This chaotic scene allowed Green to hit the ‘Unprettyher’ to retain her championship.
