Chaos and Champions:

The Story Of The Collective

By: Courtney Wood

‘Chaos and Championships’ has been the battle cry for The Collective since its inception; precisely summing up what this group is all about. This singular focus has been what bound all of these uniquely different individuals together and what has made each of them successful in their own right. Since forming during the pandemic era in 2020, this group has evolved and grown to be a very recognizable force in several states across the country where they have made their way to the top of various wrestling promotions. Currently comprised of ‘The Kaiju of The Squared Circle’ Am-Po The Destoroyah, ‘The Banana Man’ Lestat, ‘The Psycho Killa’ Dae Jamison, Brittany Storm and ‘The Samoan Nightmare’ Daniel Tau-Fua, The Collective are a group of wrestlers looking to leave their mark on the industry, prove any doubters wrong by taking on any who opposes them and earn as many championships as possible in the process.

Their Story:

In the fall of 2020, while everything in professional wrestling was evolving and stunted simultaneously due to the pandemic, two monsters who were getting fed up with being overlooked and not taken seriously decided to join forces. On October Third 2020, ‘The Kaijo of The Squared Circle’ Am-Po The Destoroyah teamed up with ‘The Monster’ R.K. Sawyer and The Collective was born. This was the perfect time for this pairing as Sawyer was stuck in a bad pattern of not being able to advance higher than where he was at and Am-Po was in need of a new goal since his efforts to obtain the heavyweight championship were unsuccessful due to matters beyond his control. Moreso, Pro Wrestling eXpress was reintroducing the tag team championships, making the perfect objective for them to obtain. The monstrous duo worked as a cohesive unit, dominating the tag team divisions of multiple companies in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Before long, they achieved their goal and became PWX tag team champions after defeating Arawn Conners and Kris Killian. Surprisingly, right as they were finding their stride, Sawyer’s darker side completely took over, prematurely ending the team. Sawyer betrayed Am-Po to join The Plague of Corvus, where he could inflict pain and suffering on his victims without consequences. The former teammates would settle their differences in a brutal kendo stick match, where Am-Po walked away victorious.

* Am-Po has held the PWX, USWA and SCW Tag Team Championships and the PWX Three Rivers Championship *

* R.K. Sawyer has held the PWX Tag Team Championship and after leaving The Collective held the MVP Tag Team Championship and The MVP Monster’s Championship *

For the next few months, Am-Po would go at it alone, trying to prove himself as a solo force. This solitary journey would take him to the CZW Combine, where he was given a try out match against an unorthodox opponent; Lestat. The two destroyed one another physically, but would gain a mutual respect for one another’s abilities. Shortly after their violent encounter, The Banana Man found himself in trouble at Kyngs and Qweens of Wrestling where he was constantly attacked. Severely outnumbered and in need of reinforcements, Lestat reached out to Am-Po, saying he knew the Kajuis’ power firsthand and could not think of a better partner; with that The ‘New’ Collective was formed.

* Lestat has held The USWA, DCW, Sloberknocker Wrestling and Phoenix Pro Gemini Tag Team Championships, The PWX Three Rivers Championship, DCW U.S. Championship, PCWA Championship, Express Wrestling Heavyweight Championship,  PWX Heavyweight Championship, PWC Heavyweight Championship and the MVP Master’s Championship *

In the summer of 2023, while The New Collective were solidifying their bond, a group of controversial outcasts were taking over PWX. The Genophage: Pav Novak, ‘The Metal Assassin’ Slice, Panthro/Chase Maddox and Silas McCarthy along with their manager Tommy Horror and financial benefactor PWX General Manager Mr. Eric Johnson, were in possession of the Tag Team Championships, the Three Rivers Championship and the PWX World Heavyweight Championship. As Genophage took more and more control and attacked anyone and everyone simply because they could, The New Collective needed reinforcements to ensure that the “bad guys” would not succeed in taking control. On July 1st of that year, the duo offered to help William Renee, a man that had been outnumbered time and time again by the champions and the hardcore team appropriately known as ‘The Bruisers’, if he would help them fight The Genophage in return. When the numbers became even, all of these teams would have very violent and bloody battles against one another for many of PWX’s top championships.

Once the turmoil at PWX was finally over the group tried to make a fresh start at a new company; unfortunately their past would follow them there. At Pro Wrestling Cheapshots, The Collective found themselves in the crosshairs of a very controversial and dangerous group determined to take over. The Syndicate immediately targeted them because their newest member Pav Novak seemed to be using his newly found cohorts to help him resume previous feuds and shake up the status quo as he had previously at PWX. From the company’s very first show, The Collective were attacked repeatedly by The Syndicate who were growing less and less manageable.

If this situation was not bad enough, Am-Po’s former adversary’s The Street Stompers resurfaced seemingly from out of nowhere to rehash their rivalry; only this time they would be the aggressors. It became very apparent, at Cheapshots you needed to have backup or you would be continuously attacked. This grim reality caused William Renee to officially join The Collective on August Fifth, 2024. For the next few months, all three groups would battle one another for supremacy and survival. The real threat these renegade factions posed to PWC was also very personal to the group as William Renee’s father started PWC and it was in danger of being taken over by The Syndicate and destroyed by The Street Stompers. Beyond that, all of the members of The Collective believed in standing up against bullies who wanted to ruin the sport of wrestling; giving them great motivation to fight not just for championships, not just for PWC but for independent wrestling itself. This multi faction war would rage on for well over the next year.

In late October 2024, after over a year of seemingly endless conflict, William Renee left The Collective in order to focus on himself and his own career. Renee claimed he had hit the preverbal ‘glass ceiling’ within The Collective, had ”gotten all of the chaos out of his system”and most importantly wanted to align with his blood family,  his father. Further claiming that he never wanted to join the team at all but was forced to in order to survive and as time went on he was drugged into situations that he was not invested in. Despite how controversial and unexpected this decision was, it is impossible to deny its benefit as William has been able to call his own shots as an individual not as a member of an ever growing faction and has become a heavyweight champion. William, backed by his new associates, would battle his former teammates in an extremely personal and violent feud for the next year; one that has taken its toll on all involved.

* William Renee has held The PWX Tag Team Championship, the BDW Internet Championship, the WVWF Mountain State Championship and the PWC Heavyweight Championship *

Meanwhile, just about an hour south of PWC in Parkersburg WV at WVWF, Am-Po would be attacked by a young promising competitor that he knew very well; ‘The Psycho Killa’ Dae Jamison. Not one to wait around hoping to be noticed, Dae took matters into his own hands and challenged the man who trained him knowing that competition was a language they both spoke very well. After the student and teacher collided, and Dae proved that he was a partner not a protege, Jamison officially became a member of The Collective. This unexpected turn of events reinforced The Collective and changed the course of the group from then on. Daes’ high spirited ferocity and killer instincts completely altered the group’s dynamic and energy, making them far less predictable and harder for opponents to prepare for.

* Dae Jamison has held The SCW Tag Team Championships, The USWA Keystone State Championship, The JICW Cruiserweight Championship and was The First and Last Xpress Wrestling Hardcore Champion *

Amidst all of the turmoil occurring at PWC, The Collective decided to strengthen their ranks even further and in a new way by adding a mutual trainee of Am-Po’s and Jamison’s, the group’s first female member; Brittany Storm. The WVWF Women’s Champion was one who showed a lot of potential but was in need of a little guidance and a support system making the support of The Collective very appealing. Despite her in ring success, Storm was inherently reserved, shy and remained a little unsure of herself. The combination of Am-Po’s calculated approach to combat and Dae’s kinetic vigor made for the perfect environment for Brittany to find her voice while helping her focus her energy. Since officially joining the team, she has shown a lot of growth, became more self assured and has expanded into other companies where she has claimed gold. As Strom learns to harness her strength and focus her energy by blocking out outside negativity, she is becoming a serious threat to anyone standing across from her.

* Brittnay Storm held the WVWF Women’s Championship and after joining The Collective held the Starlight Women’s Championship *

In October 2025, in the same promotion where he joined forces with his mentor, Dae looked into his past and listened to “the whispers” to reunite with his former ‘Reckoning’ tag team partner ‘The Somoan Nightmare’ Daniel Tau-Fua. Years before, right after Dae finished his training, he teamed up with Tau-Fua in PWX to fight the team of ‘Keystone Khaos’. During that time, they challenged for tag team gold and tried to recruit ‘Part King, Part Strader’ Vance Strader in order to help him harness his untapped power; a long-term plan they are still enacting today. The Collective’s newest member acts an enforcer of sorts as in addition to his brute strength, Tau-Fua has a very unique ability to get inside others minds and help them use their power “correctly”. It has been said that the power of the ‘Miti Leaga’ is what helped Dae Jamison become the ‘Psycho Killa’, as it unleashed and focused Dae’s inherent killer instinct making him the unpredictable resilient competitor he is today. With this new edition, The Collective have become the most powerful they have ever been.

* Tau-Fua has held the USWA Universal Championship *

What started as two fed up monsters joining forces in order to not be overlooked has become a family. No matter which member it is and where they are competing, the wrestling world takes notice. All five members add something special to the group, making each one uniquely important and simultaneously integral to The Collective’s success. Am-Po serves as the anchor that keeps all of the members grounded and on track to achieve their championship goals. He uses his knowledge to help recruit and guide new members, ensuring that they find a home and reach their potential as warriors; making him integral to the group’s success and overall longevity. Lestat adds his veteran knowledge and technical in-ring ability, along with his unorthodox outlook, which has proven to be a very successful combination making his input invaluable. Dae Jamison brings an unpredictable, diehard sensibility to the group which keeps all opponents guessing as to what to do, giving the group a powerful edge in combat. Brittany Storm brings an unassuming force that has been used to great effect to disarm her opponents, ensuring that The Collective will continue to add women’s championships within their ranks. Finally, Tau-Fau contains a strong power that changes and elevates everyone he comes into contact with, guiding them to unlock their darkest ability. His talents have been elegantly summarized by someone who has been very affected by him, saying: “Even the strongest of minds find his sway hard to resist”.  As of right now, the five Collective members hold eight championships in four different companies, fulfilling their motto of ‘Chaos and Championships’.
