STARDOM standout Momo Watanabe announced she will be stepping away from in-ring competition to recover from a lingering knee injury. The revelation came following her recent appearance, where she addressed fans with an emotional but determined message about her condition and future goals.
“I’m not crying anymore. I’m strong-willed, and I’m not the kind of person to get discouraged here. I’ll never give up. I won’t give up until I take the belt from Kamitani,” Watanabe said.
Watanabe explained that despite her efforts to push through the injury, she had reached her physical limit.
“I’ve been trying to manage it, but it seems I’ve reached my limit. I’m not at my best right now. That’s why, even though I’ve been giving my all with this knee, I don’t think I can become the strongest until I fix this knee.”
The former Wonder of STARDOM Champion emphasized that her hiatus is only temporary, vowing to return stronger than ever with her sights still firmly set on dethroning Saya Kamitani.
“So I’m going to take a break for a while, and then I’ll come back stronger and definitely take the belt from Kamitani. I’ve decided that now,” she stated.
Before concluding, Watanabe expressed confidence in her H.A.T.E. stablemates to continue their dominance in her absence.
“With H.A.T.E. as it is now, they’ll dominate STARDOM, right? So I’ll leave it to them. I’m going to rest for a bit.”
No timetable for Watanabe’s return has been announced.
