August 2, 2025 | MetLife Stadium | East Rutherford, NJ

WWE SummerSlam 2025 kicked off with a thrilling Night One. Here’s a full breakdown of the night’s action:

Roman Reigns & Jey Uso vs Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker

Roman Reigns and “Main Event” Jey Uso joined forces once again to take on the powerhouse duo of Bron Breakker and “Big” Bronson Reed. The match opened the show with heavy-hitting sequences, but the reunited Bloodline pair showed their chemistry still runs deep. Reigns and Uso picked up the win, reminding the WWE Universe that their family dominance remains intact.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships | Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez (c) vs Alexa Bliss** and **Charlotte Flair

Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair dethroned The Judgment Day’s Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. The odd-couple pairing of Bliss and Flair clicked perfectly, combining Alexa’s cunning with Charlotte’s power and experience. The win marks another accolade for both women and a significant shift in the tag division.

Sami Zayn vs Karrion Kross

Sami Zayn defeated Karrion Kross in a cerebral battle filled with mind games. Mid-match, Scarlett teased handing Zayn a steel pipe, seemingly encouraging him to fight dirty. But in a twist, she tossed the weapon away. Capitalizing on the confusion, Zayn nailed Kross with an Exploder Suplex into the corner and followed it up with a devastating Helluva Kick to earn the victory.

WWE Women’s Championship | Tiffany Stratton (c) vs Jade Cargill

In one of her toughest tests to date, Tiffany Stratton retained the WWE Women’s Championship against the powerful and athletic Jade Cargill. The challenger nearly had it won with an Avalanche Jaded attempt out of the corner, but Stratton showed her ring IQ by rolling out and nailing her signature Prettiest Moonsault Ever for the pin.

Jelly Roll & Randy Orton vs Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre

The celebrity tag team match delivered as Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul defeated Randy Orton and Jelly Roll. Midway through the match, Jelly Roll appeared injured and was helped toward the ramp but in a dramatic moment, he turned around and charged back into the action. Despite his bravery, Paul and McIntyre’s athleticism and dirty tactics proved too much, with Paul securing the win for his team.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship | Gunther (c) vs CM Punk

In what many considered the Match of the Night, CM Punk did the unthinkable, he defeated the long-reigning Gunther to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Punk tripped a showboating Gunther off the announce table and followed up with two brutal GTSs to seal the win and become champion once more.

But the celebration was short-lived.

Seth Rollins cashes in

Just as Punk began to revel in his moment, the arena erupted as Seth “Freakin” Rollins appeared seemingly injured on crutches, accompanied by Paul Heyman holding the Money in the Bank briefcase.

Rollins approached Punk with a chilling smile and said, “I’m playing your game now.” Then, in an incredible reveal, Rollins threw down the crutches, tore off his leg brace, and exposed that the injury was all a ruse.

Rollins rushed the ring, bludgeoned Punk with the briefcase, and officially cashed in. One Stomp later, and just like that, Seth Rollins was once again World Heavyweight Champion.
