Brock Lesnar made his long-anticipated return at WWE SummerSlam 2025, closing the event in dramatic and brutal fashion.

The surprise return came just moments after the main event concluded, where Cody Rhodes successfully defeated John Cena for Undisputed WWE Championship . As Cena stood in the ring, visibly emotional and soaking in what felt like a potential farewell, the arena lights shifted—and the familiar riff of Lesnar’s theme hit to a thunderous ovation.

Wearing a cowboy hat, leather vest, and his signature cold glare, “The Beast Incarnate” slowly made his way to the ring. Lesnar and Cena locked eyes in a tense stare-down that brought back memories of their storied rivalry. Without a word, Lesnar removed his vest and hat and then launched into action—ducking a wild right hand from Cena and lifting him into the air for a thunderous F5, leaving the 17 time world champion laid out flat in the center of the ring.

The shocking moment ended the pay-per-view on an explosive note, marking Lesnar’s first WWE appearance in over two years. His last match was also at SummerSlam—back in 2023—when he was defeated by Cody Rhodes in what many thought was the conclusion of his storied in-ring career.

However, Lesnar’s return is not without controversy. His name surfaced earlier this year in a lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant, which included explosive allegations against former WWE chairman Vince McMahon. The suit alleged that McMahon sent Lesnar explicit images and videos of Grant and even offered sexual favors involving Grant as part of negotiations to re-sign Lesnar to a new WWE deal. WWE has yet to publicly address Lesnar’s return in light of those allegations.
